The Store, on South End, is a classic English pub known for its Sunday roasts.
185 reviews on TripAdvisor dub the pub as excellent.
One reviewer said: "Lovely restaurant.
“Very kind staff and amazing food.
“Large portions and one of the best Sunday roasts.
“Will deffo come back.”
The pub is open from 5pm to 11pm on Thursday, 12pm to 12am on Friday, 11am to 12am on Saturday, and 11am to 8pm on Sunday.
It is not open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Market Tavern
Next on our list is Market Tavern on Surrey Street.
The pub has four stars on TripAdvisor and 68 reviews dubbing the pub as excellent.
One reviewer said: “Came in with family for my son’s birthday meal and drinks.
“Had a lovely evening food was great and even the fussy ones in the group were very well catered for.
“The staff were super friendly, and we will definitely be going back.
“Thank you, Market Tavern team.”
The Market Tavern is open from 10am to 11pm on Monday and Tuesday, 10am to 11.30pm on Wednesday, 10am to 12am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 10pm on Sunday.
The Green Dragon
Third on our list is The Green Dragon.
The Green Dragon on 58 High Street
One reviewer described the pub as an “all round great boozer”.
The pub has four stars on TripAdvisor and 60 “excellent” reviews.
Another reviewer said: “Great food - I had the Bollywood Burger followed by the Cherry Compote Cookie Dough.
“Great beer, friendly staff, good music and good music contributed to a great atmosphere.
“Excellent value for money, plus a pool table to boot.
“Highly recommend.”
The Green Dragon is open from 12pm to 11pm from Monday to Thursday, 12pm to 1am on Friday and Saturday, and 12pm to 10pm on Sunday.
Porter and Sorter
At number four is Porter and Sorter on Station Road.
The pub, next to East Croydon, has 3.5 stars on TripAdvisor and 82 “excellent” reviews.
One reviewer said: “Dan and the team were amazing; the food was delicious.
“I felt so comfortable here and I will definitely be back.
“Thank you to everyone who was so welcoming and all smiling.”
The Porter and Sorter is open from 11am to 10pm on Monday and Tuesday, 11am to 11pm on Wednesday, 11am to 11.30pm on Thursday, 11am to 12am on Friday, 11am to 12.30am on Saturday, and 12pm to 10pm on Sunday.
Mr Fox
Last on our list is Mr Fox.
Mr Fox on Surrey Street has 43 “excellent reviews”.
One reviewer urges people to “just go” and assures “you won’t regret it”.
The reviewer said: “This is just the perfect place to eat and drink. I’ve been coming here for years, and it just gets better and better.
“The staff are superb and the atmosphere is warming and the food is exceptional.
“100 per cent hands down the best roast in London.”
