A vintage steam train dating back to the 1940s is set to pass through south east London again this week.

The Clan Line 35028 locomotive, a 76-year-old steam engine, is set to haul vintage Pullman dining carriages through parts of south east London on its journey to Kent.

The train will be making its way through south east London this Thursday (September 26), passing through Bellingham, Denmark Hill and Bromley South.

One of its most famous trips made history in 2018, when it became the first Merchant Navy locomotive to pass over the Royal Albert Bridge and enter Cornwall.

South east Londoners will have another chance to spot this distinctive locomotive as it pulls the carriages on a return trip to and from Kent.

The train will pass through a number of south east London stations on its journey into the Kent countryside, travelling towards Canterbury and down to Dover to tour past the iconic White Cliffs, before making its way back via Folkestone towards Paddock Wood and south east London in the early afternoon.
