A man in his 30s is still fighting for his life two days after being hit by a bus in Croydon.
Emergency services were called to the crash involving a bus and a pedestrian at around 1.10pm on Saturday, October 5.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.
He was taken to hospital where his condition was initially unknown.
Yesterday, police confirmed that his condition was assessed as life-threatening and today (October 7) police told Your Local Guardian that his condition remains the same.
George Street was closed in both directions as the incident was being dealt with.
However, it has since reopened.
The full Metropolitan Police statement says: “Police were called to George Street, Croydon, at 13.09hrs on Saturday, 5 October, to reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service.
“A man in his 30s was found injured.
“He has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called 1.07pm yesterday (5 October) to reports of a road traffic collision in George Street, Croydon.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first paramedic arrived in less than three minutes.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre, by road, as a priority.”
