A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a van on the A3.
Police were called at 1.17pm today (October 9) to the incident on the A3 near the junction with Coombe Lane, New Malden.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, was found injured and taken to hospital.
He has sustained serious injuries, but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
There have been no arrests at this stage.
There is currently congestion to Tolworth, with southbound queues back to Richmond Park.
Roads around New Malden and Kingston are also heavily congested, with bus routes 152,265,K5 on diversion.
Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call 101, quoting the reference 3684/09oct.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 1.17pm on Wednesday, 9 October, to a van in collision with a motorcycle on the A3 near the junction with Coombe Lane, New Malden.
"The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital.
"He has sustained serious injuries, but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
