A man has been jailed for life after murdering celebrity boxing coach, Reece Newcombe, with broken glass outside a club in Richmond.
Ross Hamilton of Wood Lane, Isleworth was handed the life sentence at the Old Bailey on October 11 where he appeared for sentencing.
The 34-year-old was ordered to serve a minimum of 19 years (less time served) for murder, and a four month sentence for assault on a second victim at the scene [to be served concurrently].
A unanimous response from a jury on September 20 found Hamilton guilty of both the murder and assault.
The court heard how Hamilton had been acting in an "aggressive and unpredictable manner" on November 26, 2022, according to prosecutor Louis Mably KC.
Hamilton and Reece had been watching England play USA in a World Cup gamed in Richmond Park before both moving on to Viva nightclub.
During the trial, Mr Mably said Hamilton "seemed to be goading people" and "behaving aggressively", with this behaviour continuing after the club had closed.
The prosecutor told the court the 34-year-old "began confronting people" and saying "I will ju-jitsu the f*** out of you".
According to the Metropolitan Police, Reece engaged in a brief altercation with Hamilton who had armed himself with a piece of broken glass.
The boxing coach was stabbed in the neck.
According to Mr Mably, Hamilton's decision to arm himself with the glass "changed everything".
Reece was given emergency CPR until paramedics and London's Air Ambulance arrived at the scene.
He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead a few hours later.
Hamilton handed himself into police at Acton police station two days later, aware that he was the subject of an extensive police manhunt.
He was charged with Reece’s murder on November 30, 2022.
Jurors were told that Hamilton had a violent streak, with past convictions.
In 2014, he was convicted for punching a taxi driver to the side of the head in a row over a fare.
Just four years later, he was cautioned for hitting a girlfriend in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.
Two years following the caution, he was convicted in Spain of hitting another partner in the shoulder with a bottle, kicking her in the stomach and pushing her to the ground.
A spokesperson for Reece Newcombe’s family said: “Reece in life was the shining light at the centre of our loving family.
"That light was brutally snubbed out by the murderous moronic actions of Ross Hamilton, a callous bully on 26 November 2022.
“There is never a moment that goes by without us thinking of the beautiful soul that was our Reece.

“We, his family, are forced to navigate this cruel existence without him as we walk forward in life completely heartbroken.
“The public, including the women he has previously attacked, will sleep better at night in the knowledge that he will no longer be at liberty to harm, maim or murder anybody else after his day of judgment .
“We will love you for eternity our beloved beautiful Reece.”
