A Boots pharmacy in Croydon is set to close as the chain plans to shut hundreds of stores all over the country.
The high street brand’s parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance said in June 2023 that Boots would be closing 300 pharmacy outlets in the UK within the year.
The Pharmaceutical Journal reports that all those closures will be completed by the end of 2024.
The Boots store at 1 Central Parade in New Addington is among the 300 locations set for closure, with its last day of operation set for December 7, 2024.
After this, the closest Boots store will be the pharmacy at The Whitgift Centre, which is 15-minute drive away.
A spokesperson for Walgreens Boots Alliance previously said: “Evolving the store estate in this way allows Boots to concentrate its team members where they are needed and focus investment more acutely in individual stores with the ambition of consistently delivering an excellent and reliable service in a fresh and up-to-date environment.”
