An international fitness franchise has taken over a studio in Croydon.

The Australian franchise Body Fit Training (BFT) opened BFT East Croydon on Saturday (October 19).

Chris Pook, the owner of BFT East Croydon, use to run his own food catering businesses for over a decade, but said he found himself wanting a “new challenge”.

Chris said: “I’d always had a love for fitness which led me to BFT.

“My goal as I open my studio is to create a space where community and connection are at the forefront – a place that feels like a home away from home for all our members.”

The dad-of-four’s vision for BFT East Croydon is not just about building a successful business, but creating a community cornerstone that encourages fitness and wellbeing.

He added: “Choosing to locate my first studio in the Croydon area wasn’t just a business decision - it was a personal one.

“That’s where I was born and I’m looking forward to the positive impact we can have in the community.”

Over recent weeks, Chris has held several open evenings to introduce Croydon to the new studio.

BFT East Croydon is BFT’s third studio in London, with the other two being in Battersea and Hackney.

As part of the global fitness brand’s expansion, BFT is also preparing to open three more London studios, with agreements signed for Islington, Greenwich and Peckham.

Chris said: “It’s been great to see such a strong turnout and support at both our launch event and our open evenings.

“To have the support of the people right on my own doorstep has been very rewarding and exciting as I embark on this new chapter.”

Cameron Falloon, founder of BFT, said: “Opening BFT East Croydon is a proud moment not only for me but for the entire BFT family.

“Each new studio represents more than just a fitness space – it’s a community hub where people can come together to achieve their goals and support each other in leading healthier lives.”
