A person has died after being hit by a train in Streatham.
Police were called to Streatham Common station on Thursday (November 7), to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 2.50pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The death impacted both Southern Railway and the Gatwick Express between East Croydon and Clapham Junction.
Southern Railway said in an alert at the time: “All lines are locked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident.”
All lines were reopen just before 5.50pm, although delays continued until the rest of the day.
