The toilets at Sutton’s St Nicholas Centre have won the Platinum Grade in the Loo of the Year Awards 2024.
The Loo of the Year Awards are aimed at highlighting the standards of toilet provision in public spaces across the UK.
Inspectors described the bathrooms at the St Nicholas Centre as “very clean and maintained”.
Loo of the Year Awards inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at sites across the UK to judge them.
The toilets are graded either as silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus, or diamond.
Unacceptable toilets aren’t graded at all.
The toilets are judged through their decor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment, and overall management.
Priya Kaur, the St Nicholas Centre manager, said: “Staff at St Nicholas work tirelessly to ensure our toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors.”
The Loo of the Year Awards 2024 Managing Director Becky Wall said: “The toilets St Nicholas Shopping Centre have been fitted out to a very high standard and are very clean and well maintained.
“The centre deserves its platinum award.”
