It’s that time of year again when all the towns and cities become brighter with all the Christmas lights, and Wallington is no exception.

Wallington is getting ready for its annual Christmas Switch On event, which will light up the town on Friday, November 29, and will be accompanied with a whole Christmas fair before the lights officially turn on.

The event will take place between 4.30pm and 8pm by the Old Town Hall and in Wallington Square.

We’ve outlined the full line-up for the Wallington Christmas Lights Switch On.

From 4.30pm, Orchard Hill College’s Christmas Shopping Event will kick off.

There will be gift stalls in Wallington Square, including make-your-own gifts, for the Christmas shopping experience.

Visitors can enjoy food in the Square at the food stalls, set up by members of the community.

From 5pm, Father Christmas will arrive at his Grotto.

Children will be able to tell him what they want for Christmas before the lights switch on.

From 5.30pm, various choirs will perform and sing Christmas Carols, bringing in that festive feeling.

The choirs will sing a range of Christmas songs from Carol of the Bells to We Wish You A Merry Christmas, as well as the nursery rhyme classics of Away in a Manger.

At 7pm, the Christmas lights will be switched on and The Wallington Christmas Light Switch On will go on until 8pm.
