A popular sushi restaurant has opened its fourth branch in south London at Battersea Power Station with an outdoor terrace and bar.

Popular Danish-Japanese sushi chain Sticks’n’Sushi officially opened its newest restaurant within the Grade II* listed south London landmark on Electric Boulevard, marking its 15th store in the UK.

Located on the upper level of the Electric Boulevard, this new restaurant designed by Danish company Noma-Kyoto architects features a minimalist design that pays tribute to the heritage of the power station with a bar, outdoor terrace and open plan kitchen area.

The space has been inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Omotenashi’, with an open and welcoming space and riverside views.

The restaurant is best known for its signature combination of sushi and grilled sticks, with some of its most popular dishes including Hotate Kataifi scallops wrapped in fine kataifi pastry, or Beef Tataki and house rolls with fillings such as Aka Ebi Argentinian with shrimp and shell crab.

But if you’d prefer something from the grill, the menu serves seafood and meat dishes like miso glazed back cod and lamb with garlic butter, and new additions like Momo Nanban, fried chicken thigh in sweet and sour dashi.

For an immersive dining experience, the Temaki Setto diners can make their own hand rolls with ingredients like wagyu tartare, snow crab, crispy nori and sushi rice.

If you’re looking for an affordable option, their set menu features a mix of dishes like duck meatballs and beef tataki, as well as plant-based options with the Green My Day feast.

Their drinks menu pays tribute to their Japanese routes with a selection of wines, spirits and Japanese teas, as well as creative cocktails like Purple Rain, an infusion of Roku gin with butterfly pea flowers, yuzu tonic and violet liqueur.
