A busy station in Surrey has been evacuated after what was thought to be a "suspicious package" was found.
The discovery was made at Guildford station just before 3.15pm today (December 4).
Officers attended the scene and evacuated the surrounding area as they inspected the package.
The item was confirmed to be non-suspicious and the station was reopened at around 4.45pm.
Although all lines have reopened, major disruption to services is expected until 10pm.
There are also delays until 9pm between Staines and Feltham, however, it is unknown whether these two are connected.
We have contacted British Transport Police to confirm.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Guildford railway station at around 3.16am today (4 December) following reports of a suspicious package.
