I’m annoyed at MPs decision to vote in favour of exempting themselves from the Freedom of Information Act.

I think it is a poor decision and although they crow it’s to protect their constituents I think the real reason is they don’t want to reveal how much they are spending in expenses.

Expenses paid from the public’s purse. So I think we have a right to know about them, and not just on a voluntary basis.

And what’s worse is the grotty reply from Croydon Central’s MP, Andrew Pelling, who when interviewed by the Croydon Guardian said: “I voted to protect Croydon people who write to me about their personal problems from having this information getting into the grubby hands of the local newspapers."

Pompous Pelling seems to be suggesting he’s on a personal crusade to protect the people of Croydon.

I don’t think the local paper’s interested in the contents of your brimming inbox Andrew, more it’s concerned whether you’ll be taking after your predecessor Geraint Davies in the excessive expenses department.

According to the BBC in the year before Labour MP Mr Davies lost his seat he claimed a staggering £176,026 in expenses more than any other MP including the Prime Minister.

And Mr Pelling didn't seem to think the Croydon Guardian was so grubby before he got his seat (see above).

On another matter. To the dude who decided to randomly throw a rock at me on Saturday as I chugged along Croydon’s Wellesley Road at about 8pm.

Firstly, ouch. Secondly, do you want to reveal the reason for your obvious frustration? Once you’ve done that we can have a nice chat about anger management.
