I had a great weekend down at the Cornbury Music Festival.

Helped quite a bit by the glorious return of the summer - even though it pushed me dangerously close to badly burnt head territory.

I think I was mostly looking forward to seeing Blondie. Thinking that it might be one of the last times the group performs live. And their performance, which started off slightly lacklustre, soon took off much to the delight of the crowd.

I was again blown away by how good The Feeling are.

I saw them last year at the V Festival. That year I’d been most looking forward to seeing Radiohead, the Dandy Warhols and The Cardigans.

But the most memorable performance, the show that most stuck in my mind was The Feeling’s.

On both occasions lead singer Dan Gillespie Sells whipped the audience up. Calling on them to sing along and proudly proclaimed that life was too short to be shy - forcing even those at the back to join in.

It’s hard not to smile while the band perform, and harder not to join in. And this is coming from someone who hates audience participation - I go into a voluntary coma at pantomimes.
