So the other night, while Holly had her mates round, I was a bit unsociable and disappeared to the bedroom.
Before disappearing, I had to set up the Playstation, so they could sing to their hearts content. After that, I walked into the bedroom and hit upon an idea.
About a month ago, my TV broke. Now, under the normal circumstances I would of just got it fixed. But because it was Christmas, we decided to just buy a new (bigger and better) one on credit and worry about the old TV later. The broken TV is a 26inch LCD flatscreen and is only about 2 years old, so I was somewhat reluctant to just sling it out. I had thought about getting it fixed and selling it on, failing that, maybe my parents might be interested in having it (they have after all, still got the wall brackets in my previous bedroom, now re-named “the spare room”).
But yeah, as I sat there, slightly bored, wondering what to do with myself, I glanced at the TV, which has been sitting on the floor for the last month. I decided to turn it on and see if the flickering had stopped. To my amazement, it had!
I then decided to try and plug something into it (this is where the problem was originally, anything that was plugged in via a scart cable or via the HDMI port, would result in with a flickering picture and then nothing at all!). I dug out my X-Box and plugged that in. That worked fine too!
So, I decided to remove Hollys little TV and place the flatscreen in its place (I did ask her permission before I did this! - she was actually quite happy with the idea). I then plugged in the DVD player, this was a real gamble, because it could only be plugged in via the scart socket. Again, it worked without any problems.
I’m hoping this problem has fixed itself, but I somehow doubt that. In the mean time I am gonna leave it there and just hope the problem has gone away.
Anyway, regardless of any that, I could still play my X-box on a fairly decent sized screen that evening - even if I couldn’t hear it above the Sing Star extravaganza in the living room.
