I believe that it is not only myself who is vulnerable to attack in Croydon and think you will find that a great deal of young women would feel even more vulnerable in the area especially after the tragic murder of Sally Ann Bowman. As the latest statistics on this site show rape and other sexual offences are up this year on last in Croydon, as is gun crime.

Having said all of this, I can honestly say I do feel safe, for the majority of the time, walking in Croydon. My last blog was more of an observation on the amount of Parking attendants versus policemen I have seen walking the streets. It seems that the local council / police force have got their priorities wrong?

As an aside, why is it fireworks are going off already? I don’t have any pets myself but feel for them when, what was “fireworks night” is now “fireworks fortnight”.
I have already got my tickets for a local display on the 5th and am really looking forward to it!
