So yesterday I got back from Mexico. I wont go into details about the holiday just yet because I am still slightly jet lagged and I have neither the energy nor the enthusiasm to talk about it.
Instead, I am going to sit here, sulk to myself with the fact that I am once again at work sat in front of my computer monitor and I am no longer basking in the sun within a 5 star, all inclusive resort (however, I am still wearing the wrist band in the hope that someone might offer a free drink/dinner as they walk past). All I really wanna do right now is go to sleep.
We landed yesterday morning at 9.00 am, but since Mexico is 6 hours behind, it felt like 3.30 am to me. I hardly slept during the 9 hour and 45 minute flight and to top it off, the ear phone socket on my “In-flight Entertainment” was not working. Not that that mattered anyway.
The main movie that was being played was “The Golden Compass”, which I saw a few months ago and thought was criminally below average (seriously, if you have a cast that includes Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Sir Ian McKellan, Derek Jacobi and Christopher Lee, let them share a few scenes together!). Maybe I am missing the point, but I really felt that it was a half finished film. I can only hope it made enough money to warrant the two sequels, because I really can't be bothered to read the books.
Anyway, luckily, I packed my PSP in my hand luggage, along with a few UMDs – so I relied mainly on that to keep me occupied. Managed to watch “Serenity” again and the classic film “Aliens”, which I have got to say, still holds up in this day and age of CGI.
We got home yesterday afternoon about 12ish and went straight to sleep for about 2 or 3 hours. I then went to see my parents for a bit and then came back home and watched an episode of Doctor Who (got to catch up before next Saturdays episode!). I then went to sleep about 12 and woke up this morning at 8.30 and came to work.
I've just come out of a meeting, which was about something that I really have no opinion of at the moment...
I am guessing that I have either got the holiday blues or I am just jet lagged.... or possibly both....
Anyway, once my enthusiasm has returned, I shall upload some photo's and talk more about a place I would rather be at right now...
