It's been a week since I got back from holiday and yesterday, Holly finally unpacked her suitcase.
When I think back to last Wednesday (when we landed), we got home and I unpacked. I then went for a little kip. After that, we went to Sainsburys and bought, amongst other things, a blender. As soon as we got home, it was unpacked and we were drinking fruit smoothies.
Now, for the past week, her suitcase has been sitting in the hall and I have been climbing over it, not even acknowledging its existence (I do that with most things that need putting away). But then Sunday, something finally struck a chord in me.
If that was my suitcase sitting in the hall, Holly would be on my case (pun intended) big time. Now, I put my stuff away the day we got back to avoid Holly having a go at me.
I asked Holly when she planned to unpack and she said “I'll do it tonight”. Five minutes later she was fast asleep on the couch. The same thing happened the following night, and then the following night.
Yesterday, on her day off, she finally unpacked.
Now, with the fact that she only wore a third of what she packed while on holiday and the fact that she has not needed any of the clothes in the suitcase for the last week, leads me to believe that she has far too many clothes.
Still, she had enough spare time to open the blender...
