Holly was constantly reminding me about the clocks going back last week and Sunday night, she reminded me again.
“Don't forget the clocks go back tonight”
Now, I am one of those people who will believe anything they are told. If you say something is like this, I will probably say “oh, is it, ok fair enough” and just get on with my business, not giving the discussed subject any further thought.
Now I really need to snap out of this frame of mind.
As I was saying, Sunday night, I go to bed, put on a DVD and lay there watching it, until I eventually nod off (which was around 2.00 am).
Monday morning, I wake up, I look at my watch and it says 8.40. I think to myself “it's alright, the clocks went back last night”, so I zombie walk my way into the kitchen, get a glass of OJ and head into the living room.
I switch on the TV to see Lorraine Kelly and not Fiona Phillips or Kate Garraway.
“She's on a bit early isnt she” I think to myself.
I then look at the time on the TV screen and see it still says 8.45 and not 7.45. I sit there for a second, putting two and two together and I suddenly realise that I have 15 minutes to get washed and dressed and to get to my desk at work.
Typically, none of this had any effect on Holly as she was off work Monday, so she just stayed in bed totally unaware of any of this.
Anyway since this incident, I have learnt my lesson and have decided not to listen to Holly when it comes to the clocks going back/forward/whatever. If she mentions something along those lines, I am going to google it first. As in recent weeks, Holly has made quite a few basic cock ups.
The other day, Holly was making a fry up. She told me to get the vegetable oil out of the cupboard and leave it on the side for her. I do this and then walk into the living room. I then hear her scream “Oh no!”.
I run into the kitchen to see that she has put Comfort fabric conditioner in the frying pan and not the vegetable oil. She then blames me for putting the vegetable oil next to the fabric conditioner.
And then yesterday, she is looking at one of my photo albums and points to a photograph
“That one is upside down hun” she says,
“No, the book is upside down hun”
For those of you that are interested, the clocks go back this Sunday night...
