A car collided with a cyclist before mounting a pavement and hitting two pedestrians in Balham earlier this evening.
The cyclist and pedestrians – aged 50, 54 and 58 - are in a stable condition in hospital following the incident.
The driver of a Nissan Sunny, believed to be a male who was not hurt, was exiting the Sainsbury’s car park in Balham Station Road when the accident happened at 4.35pm, witnesses said.
One witness, who called an ambulance, said: “The driver came across the road, hit the cyclist and then mounted the pavement and hit the others. Thankfully he wasn’t going too quickly.”
Police cordoned off the road – where the mangled bike and car were still lying where they came to rest - into the late evening while they investigated.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 4.35pm to reports of a collision between a car, a bicycle and two pedestrians. The cyclist and pedestrians were taken to south London hospitals, and are in a stable condition. There have been no arrests.”
