Shabden Park Farm in Chipstead opened its gates to the public last Sunday, inviting people to see how food is produced.
The farm, on Chipstead's High Road, welcomed more than 1,000 people.
Visitors who braved the rain were treated to attractions including sheep shearing displays, tractor and trailer rides, guided walks and sheep dog demos.
Farmer Kirstie Banham, who is the tenant farmer at the farm with her husband Mark, described the day as “fantastic”.
She said: “It was just mad. People were coming not just from Chipstead but from all over the place.
“We had people from Dorking, from Reigate and from Redhill.”
The event was part of open farm Sunday, a day when farmers across the country invite visitors to take a look at farming first-hand.
Mrs Banham said people had seemed “genuinely interested in seeing where and how their food's produced”.
She added the most obscure question she was asked was “what proportion of clover sheep eat to grass?”.
The most popular attraction was a tractor and trailer ride around the 260-acre farm with a running commentary from Mr Banham.
He said: “We have a set of young cows that came bounding around the trailer.
“People were raving about that.”
