Help is at hand for the older, disabled or vulnerable residents who need small but essential work carried out in their home.
Sutton Staying Put, the council’s in-house home improvement agency, offers financial aid to those on benefits or with limited savings for minor repairs or improvements around the house.
The scheme covers basic plumbing and electrical jobs, tiling, window repairs, gutter clearances and much more.
Wheelchair users Christine and Michael Knight, from Sutton, said: “The scheme is brilliant and easy to use, and the contractor was a great help and really understanding of our needs.”
