An off-road cycling project and a bid to revamp a skateboarding area were granted more than £140,000 in funding.
Beddington and Wallington Local Committee committee members approved a £110,000 scheme to refurbish a sports areas and provide a new wheels and a ramp for skateboarders and bikers in Roundshaw Park.
It followed a consultation in which over 400 young people told the committee what they wanted to do in the park.
A further £30,000 was awarded to a project in Beddington Park that will deliver off-road cycling sessions for families, including those with disabled children.
Local parents were asked what could be done to encourage their families to cycle more often, for leisure, fitness or as an alternative way to travel.
The project, to be run by Carshalton charity EcoLocal, will pay for bikes and equipment, including special cycles for disabled riders.
Chair of the Beddington and Wallington local committee Councillor Jayne McCoy said: “I’m delighted that both projects have been approved, as both were designed in response to what local people told us what they wanted to see.
“It’s also great that the facilities in Roundshaw and Beddington Parks will promote activity and exercise, encouraging people of all ages to get out in the open air and stay fit and healthy.
“The local committee has now allocated more than £400,000 towards projects in our parks and public spaces that local people asked for.”
Each of the borough’s six local committees has been allocated a share of £2m of funding from Sutton Council to spend on improvements to their local area.
