A care company has apologised after a 93-year-old woman was left lying on the floor of her flat after a mix up with a care rota.
Louisa Springett, a former Land Girl who lives on St Mark’s Hill, Surbiton, has had a daily visit from her carer at 9.30am since she broke her hip two months ago.
But when her son popped in at 2.30pm she had fallen over and her carer had not turned up.
Her son Leslie Jones, from Surbiton, said: "A 93-year-old person is left flat on the floor for eight hours and they think they can just say sorry.
"If they messed up my mother on a rota have they messed up someone else’s? Is some old dear lady out there on the floor?"
Caremark has 95 clients mostly in Kingston and Elmbridge and looks after people in their homes.
Fees start at £13.74 an hour, although means assisted people can get contributions from Kingston Council.
Carl Ward, at Caremark which is based in Kingston High Street, said: "We take full responsibility.
"It was an error.
"The carer had a client on her rota who was in hospital and went to that rather than Miss Spriggett.
"We take it very seriously when it happens. In two and a half years it has probably happened twice.
"We are fully investigating it and to ensure it doesn’t happen again."
According to its last independent inspection report Caremark is a two out of three star rated service which, with the exception of minor shortfalls generally provided good care.
