www.croydon.gov.uk 1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council, proposes to make a Traffic Order under Section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Order would be to:-
(a) introduce waiting restrictions "at any time" throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
(b) introduce waiting restrictions between 7am and 7pm on Monday to Saturday inclusive in those lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
(c) introduce loading restrictions "at any time" throughout the week in the length of street specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice;
(d) introduce loading restrictions between 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm on Monday to Friday inclusive in that length of Crown Dale specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice.
3. A copy of the proposed Order and all related documents can be inspected until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order was made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, "Access Croydon" Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.
4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Community Services Department, Croydon Council on 020 - 8667 8229.
5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Community Services Department, 9th Floor, South West Side, Taberner House, and Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1EN quoting the reference CS/PS/JAA/7/B23 by 8 July 2009.
6. The proposed Order is intended to introduce 'At any time' waiting restrictions at various locations, and 'At any time' loading restrictions in a length of Woodbury Close, Croydon. The measures are intended to address all or some of the following situations; improve safety by providing increased visibility, especially at junctions and on bends; prevent obstructive parking so that turning vehicles have sufficient manoeuverability and improve access for all vehicles, especially emergency and public service vehicles. The proposed introduction of loading restrictions in Woodbury Close would strengthen the existing waiting restrictions and highlight the need to keep clear the carriageway immediately south of the tram tracks to improve sight visibility. This length of road suffers from continuing parking despite double yellow lines. The loading restrictions would improve enforcement opportunities thereby discouraging parking. The proposed amendments to waiting and loading restrictions in Crown Dale, Central Hill and side roads are intended to improve safety and access as well as the reliability and accessibility of bus routes using this route.
