Qualifying for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships gets under way this week in Roehampton with seven British players competing in the men’s singles.
The event takes place at the Bank of England Sports Ground in Roehampton with the main draw getting under way on Monday June 22.
Chris Eaton, who came through qualifying last year before eventually losing to Dmitry Tursunov in the second round on Court No1, will meet experienced Frenchman Stephane Robert.
Richard Bloomfield, the British No6 and world No311, will face German Dieter Kindlmann as he attempts to book a place in the main draw for the fifth time in his career.
Bloomfield’s best performance was in 2006 when he recorded a straight sets victory over Carlos Berlocq to reach the second round.
Alex Slabinsky, who made his first appearance at The All England Club last year when, partnering Eaton, he lost in the doubles first round to Bob and Mike Bryan, will play Romanian Adrian Cruciat.
