Croydon-based environmental consultancy CEN has been encouraging its employees to get on their bikes and try cycling.
The London Workplace Cycle Challenge is a fun, free competition that encourages organisations to compete against each other to see who can get the most staff cycling. It is a fun way to give cycling a go and get employees active and healthy.
The miles they travel all count towards the challenge including cycling to work, cycling to the shops and cycling just for fun.
CEN is competing against organisations across London and so far 38 per cent of its employees have taken up the cycle challenge.
Since the challenge began, CEN has logged enough miles to cycle from their offices in Thornton Heath to John O’Groats and they are now making the journey back home.
Kevin Herriott, CEN chairman said: “As a company we believe in behaving in an environmentally and socially responsible way and we have chosen to promote cycling to our employees just as we have to the businesses we work with.
"It has been great to be involved in a competition that sees employees pull together as a team and work towards a common goal.
"Our sustainable transport team have taken experiences from developing workplace travel plans to make the cycle challenge a real success for CEN.”
