A parade of floats wound its way through the streets of Carshalton on Saturday when a colourful carnival got underway.
Carnival Queen Olivia Cooper was later crowned after the procession reached the park on Ruskin Road, where wrestlers, cheerleaders and a steel band were among the entertainers.
Beddington Mayqueen Jade Caputo, 11, from Beddington Park primary school, won the best May Queen float helped by sister Chloe, 14, and brother Stefan, eight.
Her mother Annette revealed it was the first time since 1989 that a Beddington May Queen had won the Lord Crook Trophy and prize money of £50.
Meanwhile, families also enjoyed the martial arts demonstrations, face painting and fun fair at the St Helier Festival.
