A group of Ashtead mums have started a campaign to raise money to improve the play-park at Ashtead recreational ground.
The group, made up of nine women with children at nearby schools, are dissatisfied with the result of a renovation by the council last year and want to see further changes to the grounds.
The campaign group is aiming to raise money to provide the park with equipment appropriate for all children.
A group member Becky Brooke, 58, said: “There are a lot of children in Ashtead who use the park, and when the changes were made before, it was hard to see many improvements.
“We want to raise money to improve the play-park so children up to the age of 14 can enjoy it.”
Although in its early stages, the group already has the support of Ashtead Residents’ Association, but plan to launch their campaign at Ashtead’s village day on June 20 in order to create awareness of the cause and encourage the support of others.
