A hospice will welcome visitors to its grounds for its Summer Fun Day on Sunday, June 28.
St Raphael’s Hospice, which cares for 900 terminally-ill patients each year, is offering a day out for all the family that will include traditional stalls, sideshows and a magic act. An all-day barbecue, tea, cakes, Pimms and beer will also be on offer.
The event, which takes place from 11am to 3pm, continues a tradition of summer fun days for St Raphael’s. It will be opened by Sutton and Cheam MP Paul Burstow.
Entry will be £1 for adults, with no charge for children.
The hospice, on London Road, spends £40,000 a week caring for its patients, but receives only a third of that from the NHS. The rest of its funds come from donations and fundraising.
