Why not join a working party to take part in the Carshalton Lavender 2009 Harvest?
The project is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s harvest and offers a range of activities including a barbecue, lavender oil distillation display, lavender cookie tasting, local artists at work among others.
Volunteers are asked to bring scissors, if possible, and clothing appropriate for the weather as well as sunscreen, a hat and some drinking water if it is hot.
The Observer Ethical Award winning project’s next community harvest takes place this Saturday, June 20, at the Stanley Road Allotments in Carshalton.
Activities run from 10am to 1pm.
