Unused mobile phones donated by Lambeth residents are to be reconfigured for use as “999 only” alarms by victims of domestic violence.
The move is part of the foneforsafety project which is being adopted in Lambeth after successful trials elsewhere.
Women deemed at risk of domestic violence will be given the phones to give them an easy and direct line to call police.
