Rail passengers in south Lambeth have been promised a huge improvement to their stations as part of Southern Railway’s successful bid to continue its rail franchise in the area.
Streatham Hill, Streatham Common, Streatham, West Norwood, Gipsy Hill, and Tulse Hill stations will benefit from millions of pounds of funding to improve staffing, cleaning and cycle parking at the stations.
Under the deal Oyster machines will also be installed, trains made longer, services made more frequent, and train running hours extended.
All the stations will be staffed from the first to the last train from April.
The new five year franchise begins on September 20.
