As part of National Tackling Drugs week, Figges Marsh safer neighbourhoods team (SNT) attended the Mitcham Carnival, offering advice and literature to residents.
The team attended the event with the mobile reassurance vehicle, a fully equipped van which allows them to conduct surgeries and distribute information throughout the borough.
Merton Council's drug and alcohol action team (DAAT) works through the year to help those who misuse drugs to get the treatment they need, while the police SNTs make sure residents' concerns about drug dealing are reported and acted on quickly.
The Figges Marsh SNT also holds surgeries on the last Thursday of the month at Mitcham McDonalds, between 12.30pm and 2pm, for residents to discuss any queries or complaints.
