TK Maxx is to open late this summer in the old Primark site on Tooting High Street, a spokesman has confirmed.
The bargain chain, which claims to offer designer items for up to 60 per cent of the recommended retail price, has not confirmed a specific date.
The 16,000 sq ft site closed earlier this year when Primark moved to Mitcham Road.
Lucy McGonigle, spokesperson for TK Maxx said: “We are delighted to be opening in Tooting and this new store makes us feel particularly proud.
“It’s TK Maxx like you’ve never seen it before although don’t expect to find waterfalls or marble floors - we’d rather pass on the savings to our customers.”
