Music sensation, 13-year-old Harry Houseago from West Norwood, has beaten 10,000 other performers to secure a place in the finals of national talent contest, Live and Unsigned 2009.

Harry, who sings, writes his own music and plays the guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and ukulele to name just a few, says he cannot remember a time when he wasn't making music.

"I was born into a really musical family and we all play and sing," said Harry.

"I guess I've been playing guitar since I was about five. My first CD was at six and I've been writing music since I was about eight or nine."

Listing his influences from Neil Young to Led Zepplin and The Script, the youngster certainly seems to have a very mature attitude to his music.

Harry was the youngest person to perform in the semi finals of the Live and Unsigned contest after competing mostly against adult musicians.

"I've so exceeded my expectations I can't believe that I've come this far," he said. "I didn't expect to get into the final, I'm so excited!"

Harry has played at numerous concerts and festivals, including the V-Festival three years ago, and despite nerves, loves to play live.

"I do get nervous before going on stage, but I think that's important - if you don't, then it's clear it doesn't mean anything to you. I get nervous because music is everything to me."

The up and coming star also gives up his time every Wednesday to play live music and requests for the children at Great Ormond Street on its hospital radio station, Radio Lollypop.

Although clearly very excited about the getting into the final and his rising fame, Harry's ambitions are modest.

"I just want to keep playing and performing music, in whatever shape or form that is. I just love entertaining people, which is what music is all about."

Harry is currently fourth out of 23 in the Live and Unsigned leader-board. To vote for him or listen to some songs, go to harryhouseago.com.
