A 14-year-old boy accused of stabbing another teenager six times was told he could face trial by jury this morning.

The teenager, from Chiswick, appeared at Brentford Magistrates' Court charged with wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.

He is accused of stabbing another teenager outside the Redlees Centre, in Redlees Park, Isleworth, on June 17.

At a hearing on Friday the court heard how a schoolboy was stabbed six times in the torso, and found by officers in nearby South Street, bleeding heavily.

Officers gave the boy CPR and he was taken to West Middlesex Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The 14-year-old, who wore a navy sweatshirt, nodded to his mother and father as he was led into the courtroom today.

He spoke only to confirm his name and address.

No application for bail was made.

The teenager was remanded in a secure unit to appear at Brentford Magistrates' Court on July 21 for commital to crown court.
