Ashes fever hit Twickenham as former England star Phil Tufnell took over the cricket club to make a new charity single to mark the biennial contest.

In the video, released this week on video-sharing website YouTube, the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner plays a spot of cricket on Twickenham Green and dances around Twickenham Cricket Club with a host of Ashes fans.

All profits from the song - The Ashes Song by Tuffers and the Wooden Urns - will be donated to Cricket for Change, a cricket community charity which uses the game to change young lives. Tufnell is president of the charity.

Dan Hough, secretary of the club, appeared in the video as an extra, along with other members, and said it had been a great experience for the club.

“It all came about a little bit randomly,” he explained.

“The production company were looking for a picturesque pavilion, something that was essentially English.

“When they explained it would be poking fun at the Aussies but in the right spirit and Phil Tufnell would come down we bought into that.

“Phil is quite a character, it was an interesting day.

“We didn’t do it for the publicity, we see ourselves as a community club and if someone wants to use our pavilion as long as they do it in the right way that’s great - we try and open it up to everybody.”

Tufnel, who was crowned King of the Jungle in 2003, said: “What better way to show our support for the England lads this summer than by singing our support from the terraces whilst also being able to show my love for the England team and support Cricket for Change, a charity very close to my heart.”

The son, organised by the makers of Marmite and set to the tune of the Rolf Harris classic Two Little Boys, is available to download from iTunes at a cost of 79p.
