American number one Andy Roddick may have won his first-round clash in four sets on Tuesday but he looked a little bemused as his post-match interview briefly turned into a film review.

The 26-year-old dispatched Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-3 7-6 4-6 6-3 on centre court as the warm-up to Andy Murray's triumph over Robbie Kendrick.

Roddick, a fan of networking website Twitter, had been asked to sum up his performance in 140 characters before being asked if he had enjoyed comedy film The Hangover.

“It was all right. I think it got built up a little bit. It is not on a par with Wedding Crashers, but it was a good laugh,” he said.

Roddick has been talked of as a potential threat to firm favourite Roger Federer and Britain's world number three Andy Murray.

But he only has eyes for his own game.

“As players our job is to get through each round. As far as who's talking about what, I don't really care,” he added.

“I just want to go out and win matches. The fact I'm in the top four with the bookies doesn't matter to me.”
