A top US singer, Kelly Rowland, has withdrawn from a concert at Epsom Downs Racecourse next month for "personal reasons".

American singer Kelly Rowland has pulled out of one of the Epsom Live! events at Epsom Downs Racecourse, held every Thursday night of next month.

Ms Rowland, 28, was due to perform on Thursday, July 16, alongside British acts Alesha Dixon and The Saturdays but announced she had to pull out for “personal reasons”.

Nick Blofeld, managing director of Epsom Downs Racecourse, said: “We are of course disappointed that Kelly Rowland is unable to play.

“But we are certain that July 16 will be an amazing event as the two acts performing have appeared in the charts this year and have an excellent repertoire of well-known hits.”

Epsom Live! is a series of evening concerts every Thursday night in July where racing lovers will be able to enjoy a night of horse racing followed by the live outdoor music concert straight after the final race.
