Traffic chaos was installed at the top of Sutton Town Centre today after a serious motor bike accident.
Several police officers are still at Carshalton Road on the junction with Langley Park Road, near the B&Q DIY centre diverting the traffic from the area, according to eyewitnesses.
A woman who was passing by the scene said: “The police spoke to me and said there was an accident and a possible fatality.”
A member of staff from B&Q, who did not want to be identified, said: “It took me ages to get here, at around four o’clock, because of this accident. When I got closer I saw the bike and the man lying there.
“There are loads of police officers out there still.”
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a motor vehicle accident at Carshalton Road with Langley Park Road.
"We sent one single response unit and one ambulance crew.
"A man reported to be in his 20s was taken to St Helier Hospital."
