The streets of Broad Green and Thornton Heath are a bit cleaner this week thanks to a litter pick by volunteers.
Led by Jason Hadden, Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Croydon North, the team of helpers set to the streets after a series of complaints about an ongoing litter problem.
Mr Hadden said: “An enormous amount of people have come forward to me, asking me to do something about the litter problem in areas like Pemdevon and London Road in Broad Green, and the High Street in Thornton Heath.
“It’s unacceptable that these areas have not improved. There is a simple solution available, to put CCTV cameras in the places where people are dropping the litter.”
