These two Tooting lovebirds are about to receive a letter from the Queen after celebrating 60 years of marriage.
Charlie Fall, 84, married girlfriend Joan, now 80, in 1949 after his time in the army.
Back then Mr Fall earned just £7.15s a week as a typesetter, and the couple settled down in Tooting, where they have lived ever since.
Mrs Fall still enjoys a spot of bingo at the old Granada, now Gala Bingo in Mitcham Road, where the couple used to go to the pictures.
Mr Fall said: “We never really had any squabbles in the 60 years. The secret is to look after one another and respect each other. You see people rowing all the time- but we’ve been very lucky.”
