Lambeth will be one of the first London boroughs to benefit from a new cycle highway scheme.
A direct cycle corridor from South Wimbledon to Bank running through Lambeth is scheduled to open in May 2010.
The scheme is one of a number being rolled out by the Mayor of London and Transport for London in a bid to encourage more Londoners to ditch the car and get on two wheels instead.
