A man is in hospital and two others were hurt after a police chase ended in a car crash in Esher early this morning.
Surrey Police is investigating the incident, which involved a Mazda that had been pursued from Merton by Metropolitan Police.
The driver of the car is in hospital with serious injuries and a main road through Esher remains closed.
The blue Mazda was in collision with a silver Daewoo in Lammas Lane, Esher, around 4.50am today.
The two occupants of the Daewoo were also taken to Kingston Hospital and their injuries are described as not life threatening.
Police are currently examining the scene and the road is expected to stay closed until at least lunchtime.
The incident occurred on the same stretch of road between Hersham and Esher, where a Surrey Police car hit and killed a pensioner while on a call in November.
South East Ambulance spokesman confirmed they attended the incident, after initial reports of a single vehicle road traffic accident.
A man aged approximately 30 was taken to Kingston Hospital with a head inhury, another man of about the same age was taken to the same hospital suffering from neck pain as well as facial and neck injuries.
Another man in his forties was admitted with chest pain.
