Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in Morland Road, South Norwood, last night.
The man, believed to be Ashley Sheridan, one of the leaders of the Don't Say Nothing (DSN) gang was taken to hospital suffering from gunshot wounds after being shot in a fast food restaurant shortly before midnight.
Ashley “Caste” Sheridan was recently recalled to prison to finish a 12 month sentence for burglary after contravening his license but is understood to have since been released.
He was seen associating with DSN members.
He was also seen travelling around Croydon wearing a bulletproof vest after threats were made against him while in prison.
The shooting occured as Sheridan was ordering food from the Delight Kebab shop on Woodside Green.
A nearby shopkeeper, who wishes to remain unnamed said: "The first we heard of it was when someone started screaming.
"We were told the man had been shot by another man in a car who drove off. When we looked he was just sitting in the Kebab shop waiting for the ambulance to get there."
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "An ambulance was called at 11:35pm to shooting in Morland Road.
"We sent one ambulance crew, one single responder an officer and an air ambulance doctor in a car.
"A man was taken to hospital."
A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 11.32pm to reports of a shooting in a shop in Woodside Green.
"Local officers and firearms officers attended and found a man believed to be 21 years old suffering from gunshot wounds.
"He was taken by LAS to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition."
