An independent inspection by the health and social care regulator has found Wandsworth Council is good at safeguarding vulnerable adults and meeting the needs of older people.
The Care Quality Commission found adult safeguarding - where the council ensures vulnerable adults are protected from abuse - had improved significantly since a 2008 review.
Inspectors acknowledged the council had developing robust systems and training more than 700 people in new procedures and said older people were positive about their relationship with the council, especially with frontline staff in adult social services.
The council’s executive member for adult services, Councillor Jim Maddan, welcomed the report.
He said: “We are not complacent and will continue to work on developing and improving these services and ensuring the public know about the support available to them.”
