The new library in Garratt Lane, Wandsworth is to open on Tuesday, August 25, the council has announced.
Builders are putting the finishing touches to the building, following a £1.5m redevelopment.
As well as books, newspapers and magazines, the facility will include study areas, free internet, email, wi-fi access, a learning suite and four self-service terminals.
Councillor Sarah McDermott, executive member for environment and leisure, said: “It’s very exciting to see the library taking shape.
“The historic building is an inspiring setting and residents can look forward to an excellent range of modern facilities.”
The library will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, with late night opening on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 7pm.
