Calls to stop penalising people taking trips to the Caribbean with disproportional air travel taxes have been backed by Streatham's Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesman.
Part of the Government’s latest budget introduces a tiered carbon emissions air tax system which means flights to the Caribbean have more tax than the US.
Many Streatham residents who need to fly there to visit relatives have called this "unfair".
Chris Nicholson, Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman said: “I am in favour of taxing air travel.
"But this poorly designed tax is unfair.”
