A new "super GP surgery" in Chessington and Hook will be run by a private firm which runs walk-in centres in Kent and Coventry, the Surrey Comet has learned.
Mallings Health won the contract from Kingston NHS Primary Care Trust to run the centre, which will be open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week.
Anyone would be able to turn up and book an appointment whether or not they are registered with a GP.
However Mallings Health have not yet got a building to run the walk-in centre from.
There were rumours that they were behind an application to turn the Old Coach House in Elm Road in to a walk in centre but local councillor Mary Reid has been told that Mallings are not the applicants.
Nearby Orchard Practice GPs Drs Bala and Siva Balasingam, and Dr John Gray, have been told they have first refusal on their premises and the clinic next door.
